A Drive in the Country

It was a fairly sunny morning but chilly and windy so we decided to take a drive into the countryside.
Here a farmer had tractors as ornaments, there were many more scattered around the front yard, they must really like tractors.
I am not sure if I mentioned it the other day but this area is huge for potatoes, in fact down the road are two huge McCain factories. We came across a field being harvested and it was very interesting.

This machine goes along and digs up the potatoes leaving them piled up in one line on top to be picked up. Can you see the potatoes coming out and then they go along the belt to the one side.

Along comes the next macine picking them up and into the truck they go. We have seen lots of trucks full of potatoes, can you imagine how many potatoes are needed in one day to feed the world.
In this field there were two of the digging macines and one doing the picking up.

Just a couple scenes along the way.

Stopped for gas and they had this large pumpkin, he could make a few pumpkin pies.

We spent the afternoon at home visiting with our neighbors who are from Salmon Arm, the couple on the other side are from Kamloops, we are all waiting to cross the border.
