The Codroy Estuary

Today we woke up to a drizzly day with the mist hanging low, our RV park is in the Codroy Estuary which is very green with lots of farms. The RV park is very spacious and we both have great sights.

The weather did not deter us and we set out for a drive around the local area.
Our first stop was the Wetland Interpretation Center that had a few plaques relating to the surroundings. Everything is so green.

From here we drove up along the coast, although you could not tell as the fog got so heavy you could not see to the water. We did find the Codroy Fish Plant and had a little walk around the fishing boats.

The shoreline was all rocks and when the waves receeded they made the rocks crackle, it was an amazing sound, especially in the fog.

Up the road just a little ways was the Cape Anguille Lighthouse the most westwardly lighthouse in Newfoundland.

All over the wild Iris's were blooming, they looked so pretty, we thought Quebec flowers on the Gaspe were far behind but here the Lupins are just blooming.

So no we backtracked a little down the coast and the fog is lifting, not getting fantastic by any means but you can see a little ways.
Here is where the Grand Codroy River meets the Atlantic and we had a walk down to the beach.

Looking down the beach toward some cliffs, the shore line is different every mile or so.

The beach was so full of so many different plants and animals, I had a great time taking shots.

Then it was a quick stop at the local store and home for lunch. After lunch and a snooze for Ron we ventured out on a short walk through the forest. It was interesting as there were signs of wisdom all along the way to read, however the mosquitos found us as well.

A picture of the Estuary from along the walk.

Came home and had a sit with Larry and Sharon and then went in to make supper and the skies opened up and the rain fell, hard and long, no wonder it is green here.
