Mar 7th and our two months are over in Kino Bay so we have to head north, we have decided to take route 36 north up to Puerto Penasco. It is a new route for our whole group, so we just went for it.
Out of Kino Bay about 20km we turned north onto a fairly narrow road but good condition, at least for the first 15 kms, then we found the potholes and we crawled through.
A couple transports pulled out in front of us and we used that to our benefit as when then went left, we went left, when they just about stopped we did to as there was going to be a big hole.
The first hour or so was lovely land any way, lots of agriculture, look at the grape fields.
After about km 55 we went through a wash out and then the road got much better but at times you thought you were going on forever into nowhere.
And then all of a sudden we crested and hill and saw the sea and Puetro Libertad.
A couple big smoke stacks.
A first sign of some of the housing.
From here we turned north on the new highway, oh my goodness it was beautiful and we drove some along the seashore. The new road did not last long enough we then connected with old road and limped along. All in all it took us just over 8 hours.
Finally set up in the Reef RV Park in Puerto Penasco and another couple joined us for happy hour. Fit right in too......
