If there is one place on earth I could take all my grandchildren it would be the Museum of Natural History in Washington, they would have loved it.
I was not sure we would ever get out of there, there was so much to see.
We loved the mammal display.
I forgot this fellows official name but his ears are 1/3 the entire size of his body, cute heh.
I found a friend to sit and watch the movie with.
Lots and lots of bones around.
One highlight is the real Hope Diamond, behind glass and security guards.
This morning we were up early to take a tour to first of all George Washington's home in Mount Vernon, we went through Alexandria Virginia on the way.
It gave us a little strange tickle to know we were walking on the same ground that George Washington had walked.
The final burial ground for the Washington family
From here we went back to Alexandria and went to the Christ Church where George Washington and General Robert E Lee went as young men(not at the same time of course).
This is the Washington pew and it is a tradition that present presidents come at least once to the church for service and sit in the pew.
The church used to be called the Church in the Woods, but now it is all city.

This was their wharf on the Potomac River.
