Charlottetown and the South Shore

The day started out sunny and warm and got quite miserable until after supper.
We started out by going downtown Charlottetown and doing a little walk around. This beautiful church is the St. Dunstan's Basilica.
We took a tour of Province House which is famous for the meeting of the fathers of Confederation. We watched a very interesting film and learned lots about our own history.

Two cruise ships in today so it makes the downtown a little busy but we walked along the waterfront before getting back to the truck.

From downtown we went around the Harbour to Fort Amherst and had a very chilly picnic lunch as by now the wind was starting to howl, it was hard to enjoy the beautiful grounds.

However of the three lovely lighthouses, I had to share one with you, this is called the
Blockhouse Lighthouse, you knew I could not have a day without at least one.

We followed the South Shore road over toward the Confederation Bridge through may
farms and beautiful countryside.

After dinner we decided we better do a walk and the sky was alive so it was a delightful walk but still very chilly, wore a hat and mittens.
