Prescott and Fort Wellington

We took up our tour today by driving down to Prescott, they had a little museum that filled us in on the history of the area. At one time it was the home of the Wiser family and we all know what they made.

Prescott is also the home of Fort Wellington, while not as flashy as Fort Henry it was an impressive part of history. The actor guides gave us a great tour and were very knowledgeable.

The stonehouse inside the fort does not look like much but was amazinly interesting inside, to see how over 100 people lived in such close quarters.

Down the road about a mile was the windmill where the battle of the windmill took place, great battle in the early 1800's with the Americans and Canadian rebels.

We did some shopping to get ready for our guests(my parents) arriving next week once we get to Quebec city and came home and actually had a sit outside. Nice day
