The Grand Canyon

Yesterday we went for a drive with Larry and Sharon to the Grand Canyon as they had never been there before. The day was wonderful and the scenery and weather spectacular, it was 77 degrees with a slight breeze, just perfect.
Asusual I took to many pictures but here a just a few for a taste.

We only had time to do the Rim Canyon as it takes a good 2 and a half hours from Camp Verde where we are parked.

One never gets tired of all the rock formations and colors.

Looking west

Oh yes we were there

Now here if you had a extra strong magnifing glassyou could find the chopper, I got just to excited at the photo op to take a good picture.

Looking east.

Ron and I went for a little walk around the rim and there was one good photo spot but my knees shook as we got pretty close to the edge.

The rapids in the mighty Colorado.

More pictures.

This is the start of the walk down the Bright Angel Trail, Ron and I have put that on our to do list for another year.

Mather Point, last rock picture.

And then the elk came out, watching the people get their pictures was quite fun.

Great day.
