The noreaster we experienced the last 48 hours is just about gone from our area, it was very wet, very windy and very cold. Today the sun shone but the wind was still high, it is supposed to be gone tomorrow.
Now we are in Middleboro but just down the road is Bridgewater, and West Bridgewater is the home of my mothers 8th great grandfater John Carey(Cary), he came to america in about 1630 and married here. His son married Mary Standish, thus our connection to Myles Standish and the Mayflower.
Now I am not sure where he was buried but many family members are in the First Cemetery in the middle of Bridgewater.
John Carey was a very important part of history in this area and a monument is erected in his honor on the street that he lived on in West Bridgewater.
It was homecoming week in Bridgewater ( I guess I can say I did just that), anyway the college was having a football game on their new turf. It was the Bridgewater Bears against the Worcester Lancers, made for a fun afternoon.
