Today we went up the east of Quebec City on the north side of the St. Lawrence, we took a very old road which weaved through many small older communities, like L'Ange Gardien, Chateau Richer and St. Anne de Beaupre. The basilica at St. Anne de Beaupre was spectacular both inside and out, there were many people wandering around.
After we took the faster road back toward Quebec City and stopped at the Montmorency Falls, they are supposed to be three times as tall as Niagara Falls.

Leaving the falls we crossed the bridge over to the Ile d'Orleans, it is about 25 miles long and 4 miles wide and provides most of the produce etc. for Quebec City. We bought some strawberries and they were so delicious.
On the island we came across this very old house, built in 1730 and they were doing some wool preparing in their costumes. It was interesting to see and the characters were doing a really cute job.
