A rest for us at Kekuli Provincial Park

After our busy summer and the wild Rally weekend we decided we needed a rest and had always wanted to stay at the Kekuli Park just out of Vernon.  We had a great site and overlooked the lake.

Weather wise we had picked the best 4 days ever and did lots of sitting around.  We did get to have a lovely visit with Rons sister Julie and husband Gary. Thursday we picked up Julie and went out to Lumby to visit but only found Uncle Floyd and Auntie Sylvia at home.

They always say we sometime forget to see what is in our back yard and so went for a drive over the hill to Okanagan Lake, we found Predator Ridge, wow, some lovely farmland and tons of beautiful homes.

Someones idea of a big thistle plant I think.  Below if you look very hard you can see the turtle in the pond.

Stopped at a little beach beside some properties on the water, look at the size of those boats.

A nice day viewing Lake Country.

On the road again, FMCA Rally

Yes, the Caddens are back on the road after a very warm summer in Keremeos. We had a good stay and we picked our first tomatoes July 1, so we feasted all summer long on tomatoes and fruit.
We also decked ourselves out this summer with a new Jeep and bicycles so we are set for the winter.

Bill, Pat and Brutus came out to say goodbye, you can see in the background the big metal shed that we helped Bill erect this summer, 5000 bolts to be put in and then after re tightened.
Our first stop was in Kelowna by the airport for a BC Bus Nuts Rally, here is just about the whole crew in front of Omers motorhome garage that kept us dry for the weekend.
The theme for the Rally was Christmas in September and Madeline and her crew had gone to a lot of work with all the decorations.
There were 30 units so approx. 60 people for Christmas dinner.
Santa met you at the door
Ron did a little entertainment after gift opening
Oh Sunday we saw a little sun after tons of rain
A few of the units all parked in a big circle.
A very good weekend, only one Prevost got stuck but another pulled him out, the pasture got pretty soggy.

Veronica in Keremeos

Veronica our young granddaughter has come to Keremeos for two weeks for a visit and to take swim lessons at the local pool.  She came at a great time the fruit is beautiful.

Our neighbor to the right (Art) said the grapes will be ripe within the week for picking and don't they look great.

Missy cannot wait and says they taste pretty good right now.

Then the neighbor behind (Ernie) caught Ron outside and said get some boxes and pick yourself some peaches as they are very ripe.  The trees are so plentiful and the fruit is so big it is hard to pick without damaging the fruit as it has grown around tree itself.
Ernie has a lot of trees and we picked selectively from about 4 and got two huge boxes full
Veronica thought this was great and of course it is peaches everything for the next while.
Ron says they are as sweet as candy and fall right into your hand.
It is a great place to spend the summer.
Looking forward to Matthew our youngest grandson to join us next week.

Fishing

Went up to Revelstoke to pick up Matt and Veronica so they could come visit with us in Keremeos for a couple weeks.  After dinner we decided to go try a quick fish on the river.
Veronica studying the situation.

Matthew caught a fish the only fish first cast out but did not manage to land it, he says he has a hex on this new rod and reel.
Ronnie trying to keep busy so posing for Grannie.... what a clown
It was a beautiful spot, Sean trying his hand at it.
The sun was setting and made a beautiful scene.
