A Day at the Beachs

First stop in the morning was the Beach Club that is being refurbished and will open in a month, they let us have a little look, will be a lovely place.

It sits on a lovely beach right in San Carlos.
Next stop Playa de Algodones, where the beach seems to go for miles.
And at the other end a big sand dune, the sand was like flour.
Off then to a beautiful rocky beach that we fell in love with, great place for our picnic and time to spend the afternoon.
Tomorrow is our last day in paradise, it has been so much fun.

Cochorit Beach

Todays adventure was to Cochorit Beach which is just south of Empalme.
We went here specifically to search for shells, the beach goes on forever.

Here is the crew searching away and then some pretty ones I liked.

Now along came some fishermen, the boat in the picture was hidden 100 meters or so up the bank, the two fellows hooked on a long rope and pulled it down to the seashore, they kept swinging it with the truck until they had it just on the water, then another boat came and pulled it off, it was interesting to watch.

Off to market

Yesterday we went to the market in Empalme, there was everything from soup to nuts, great fun to see all the booths, lots of people

Fresh Veggies
One of the things they like to do is put fruit into cups for easy eating.
Eggs are never refrigerated in Mexico
 Fried Pork Pieces
This is the same meat, very thin that the hosts used for our dinner the other night.
A table of everything, some things we could not identify.

After the market we went for a visit to Sams Club and then took our little picnic lunch down to San Fransico Beach, it was beautiful.
Ron and Lona getting lunch ready
Before our dinner we drove out to the lookout to watch the sun go down, it was awesome.

You can see the three sisters over on the Baja Peninsula in the background.

Perfect day, how could things get much better

A beautiful day in San Carlos

Today we started our day with a trip out to a little fishing village called La Mange, it was very desolate but had many restaurants, we may go try one another day.

There were no fancy houses here

However across the bay you can see the fancy houses and big hotels.

I always love to see all the birds.
I know the fishermen do not appreciate the Pelicans but I like them.
 Boat tied to the dock.
We stopped in at the Soggy Peso for a cool drink.
 The beach was beautiful.
 Enjoying the sunshine
We then went up to a lookout which was very beautiful
Proof we are here, in the sunshine.
We decided to have our little picnic snack down on the beach in the background.
We found the bottom of the a trail to the top of the mountain, quite a few people hiking up.
On our way home we stopped by Bev and Hector Scarcelli's for some refreshment and wonderful mandarin oranges.
This evening the owners of the park had a dinner party and we had carni a sada, it was like steak in a soft taco, yummy, and then margaritas, life can not get much better.

From PG, British Columbia to SC, Mexico

What a whirlwind few days we have had.  We travelled to Prince George last weekend to watch our youngest grandson Matt who plays for the Delta Wild team play in a bantam hockey tournament.  It was so great to watch him play, such a talented young man.  We also had time to visit with our sister in law Bev, niece Stacey and grand nephew James, a cousin Donald Witala and wife Donna, such a pleasure to see them all.

We left out of Prince George at 1pm Sunday afternoon in a terrible snow storm, thank goodness for Jenns good driving.  On Wednesday morning we pulled into Yuma, went to Algodones and got our Mexican tourist cards, went back into town and got our coach out of the sand, oh what a happy lady Elaine was.

Thursday morning early we headed for San Carlos, Mexico where with friends Rienk and Lona we have rented a casita for a week. It is really cute and comfortable.

Here is the outside,

It has a pool which at this time is not heated, they are just starting things up and hope to have the pool heated for next winter.

The purpose of the trip was to find out if we would like to spend the whole winter here next season.  This would be our spot if so.

San Carlos is right beside Guaymas and after breakfast out we went into town.

Here is the crew, Lyle and Carol have been here since December, they really like it.
Down by the bay

We are here for a week to check it out, so I will send more pictures soon.
