An outing at the monastery

Way out in the desert, in the middle of what feels like nowhere, taking many dirt roads to get there, stands a beautiful new monastery, called the Lady of Solitude.  The nuns that live there are called the Desert Nuns.
We decided to go for a visit and see what it was all about.

It was built in 2010 and we wondered at the expense.
A young nun from California unlocked the chapel for us so we could go inside.

It was lovely and the stained glass windows were beautiful.

Cara Lona and I standing in front of the dedication which was in 2011.

So there you go, you may never know what you will find out in the middle of the desert.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park

We are at the moment at a park in Tonopah, Arizona and our friends Sharon and Doug Dixon are staying up in the White Tank Mountain Regional Park, which is only 45 minutes away so we decided to go pay a visit and take a little walk into the Waterfall(which is dry until it rains)

Here we are part way up in front of the Petroglyphs

Some of the Petrogylphs, there were lots going up the trail.

We climbed up into a canyon

Here it is hard to see but the dry waterfall that would end up in this little pool

Just us
