Jones genealogy

First visit to the Bethany Pioneer Cemetery where we were looking for our great grandfather John Rockmore Jones.

Just about had the whole cemetery covered when we finally found him. The cemetery is in the Howell Prairie area where the Cox family lived, the Cox's are Johns' step grandparents. The only family member I found in the cemetery was Lewis Napoleon Jones, Stephens' brother. I think but could not find Melvina Miller who is John Jones' mother in law should have been there as well.

On the other side of town I was given the plat map to the original 640 acres that Stephen Jones was given in 1850 under the Oregon Donation Land Act. The following pictures are some of the property where our great grandfather grew up. The land was sold about 1874 after Stephens second wife Mary Cox died to man named John Mozier.
Enjoy the pictures, it gave me such an amazing feeling.

The road runs straight through the property.

Very close is the cemetery that Uncle Percy is buried, Percy is Pops(Roy) brother.

A day at the ocean

We decided to spend a day over on the ocean and headed out toward Tillamook and the cheese factory.

We took the tour of the factory, so many people a very popular place and tasty cheese.

Then it was off to the Three Capes Scenic Drive.

First stop Cape Mears.

It was windy but quite warm.

Then Cape Lookout.

Last but not least Cape Kiwanda

 A very nice day out.

And we are off

Hello everyone, yes here we go, another year south. A little different route for us this year as we are going to Oregon for the first ten days and then California. We have travel partners this year, Rienk and Lona Rienks, looking forward to our adventures.

Our first lunch spot the Chief Joseph Dam,

Ron beside one of the old turbines.
It was a cool gray day but it did not dampen our spirits.
Last pit stop on the Columbia River.
