Ron and I got up this morning and decided to go exploring for some new fishing lakes in the area.
The first lake we went to was called Mizzezula west of Princeton, nice little forestry campground but the mosquitoes were fierce, we ate our picnic lunch in the truck.
Along the way in we saw a moose and quite a big black bear.
But at the lake just a bunch of butterflies having a meeting.
The lake is quite long but narrow.
Next on to Kentucky which is a Provincial campground and the campground was quite lovely..
I loved the color of the lake..
.In the same park area is Alleyene Lake, with again more campsites
Between the two lakes are two small ponds and the fishery were dumping 1000 trout into just one pond.
They were very informative, said this park gets very busy for fathers day so they were stocking all the lakes.
Well okay we got a little sidetracked, on the Otter Lake road we saw a road that was named Brookmere road and Ron said he worked with a couple old timers that had worked the Kettle Valley Railway. It was 15 kms in on quite a rough gravel road but we finally found Brookmere.
There were still signs of the railway history like this old water tower. One of the streets was called Roundhouse Rd and another Conducter Wye....quite cute.
There were a few homes with people living in them but otherwise it was like a ghost town.
On our way out we found a nice little brown bear, that decided to escape by climbing up the tree.
He finally gave up and said he was out of here.
Very nice day, finished by hitting the Brown Bridge Pub in Princeton for wing night....35 cents a wing and so delicious.
